Tulip Vanessa

Vanessa is a tulip that brings a real sense of freshness to the spring garden. Its vibrant pink petals are cleanly edged and feathered with white, giving each flower a crisp, painterly look—as if they’ve been lightly dipped in cream. The shape is classic and upright, making it a lovely choice whether you're planting en masse or slotting it into mixed displays.

This is a Triumph tulip, known for its strong stems, tidy growth, and reliable performance. Reaching around 40–45 cm tall, it flowers in mid-spring—usually April—right at that sweet spot between early daffs fading and later tulips coming into their own.

Vanessa works beautifully in borders, containers, or even a cutting patch. Its clear colours pair well with blues, purples, and whites—try it with forget-me-nots or muscari for a classic spring combination. And in pots? It’s a standout.

Plant the bulbs in autumn, in well-drained soil and a sunny or lightly shaded spot. Like most tulips, you’ll get the best display if you treat it as an annual, but with a bit of luck and the right conditions, it may pop back for another show next year.
