Description
Dahlia ‘Missis Miley’ is a beautifully toned decorative dahlia known for its soft, smoky colouring and elegant garden presence. Unlike brighter summer dahlias, this variety brings a more refined palette of dusty raspberry, muted rose, and warm bronze shades that shift gently depending on the light. The fully double blooms reach approximately 10–15 cm across, formed from layered petals arranged in a relaxed decorative shape. Subtle golden warmth towards the centre adds extra depth, giving the flowers a rich, painterly quality without appearing overly bold.
Plants grow to around 90–110 cm tall with sturdy stems and a strong branching habit, producing flowers continuously from midsummer until the first frost. With regular deadheading and cutting, ‘Missis Miley’ remains highly floriferous throughout the season. Early staking is recommended to support the stems as the plant matures. In the garden, this dahlia blends effortlessly into mixed borders and softer planting schemes. Its muted tones pair beautifully with blush pinks, apricots, creams, burgundy foliage, and other late-summer perennials, making it particularly valuable in layered, naturalistic designs.
As a cut flower, Dahlia ‘Missis Miley’ is exceptionally versatile. The long stems, reliable vase life, and complex colouring make it a favourite for romantic and garden-style arrangements, where it adds warmth and depth without overpowering other flowers.
For best results, plant tubers in spring once the risk of frost has passed in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Water consistently during dry spells and cut flowers regularly to encourage continuous blooming through autumn.
An elegant decorative dahlia with smoky, sophisticated colouring and excellent garden performance.
