Jumbo Amaryllis Quito

Jumbo Amaryllis Quito is a distinctive variety valued for its expressive flower shape and contemporary colour. Rather than the classic rounded form, it produces open, star-shaped blooms made up of slim, pointed petals. This gives the flowers a sculptural, slightly untamed look that brings movement and personality to indoor displays.

The colouring reinforces its modern character. Deep red tones are layered with subtle green undertones, creating depth and variation rather than a solid, uniform red. The result feels bold and dramatic, yet refreshingly different from traditional seasonal amaryllis.

Designed for indoor growing, this variety remains neatly proportioned, producing sturdy stems that reach around 50 cm in height. It is well suited to pots placed on tables, shelves or bright windowsills, where the flowers can be enjoyed without the plant becoming top-heavy. Plant the bulb with part of the neck left above the soil surface and place it in a warm, well-lit position. Water sparingly until growth appears, then keep the compost lightly moist. Under typical indoor conditions, flowering usually begins around 6 to 8 weeks after planting.
