Description
Dahlia ‘Bashful’ is a charming Collarette dahlia prized for its elegant, layered blooms. Each flower features rich burgundy outer petals that fade to vibrant hot pink tips, surrounding a central boss of golden-yellow stamens. The blooms are slightly larger than typical Collarettes, making them highly visible in garden borders and containers. Plants grow to around 75–90 cm tall, with strong, upright stems supporting multiple flowers per plant.
Flowering generously from July to the first frosts, ‘Bashful’ adds long-lasting colour and structure, perfect for adding contrast to softer pastel flowers or complementing deeper tones in mixed borders. Its compact habit and striking colour combination make it ideal for cutting, as well as for creating a bold and cheerful garden display.
Planting information

- Depth is measurement of space between the soil line and top of bulb or bare root.
- Set the bulbs or bare root in place, pointed side or sprout side upward.
- Cover the bulbs by replacing the soil and water thoroughly.
